Feel the market

Avoid buying from NPC merchants. They usually tend to cost more than buying from another player in the game. If you are planning to purchase a new set of equipment or any other item, buy them from Giran. Taxes there are only 10% and when you buy in large amounts you tend to save alot more. Do not sell off your loots immediately. Try to find the best bargen for them. Look around for players who are spamming "WTB...". They tend to offer a higher price than normal since they probably have important use of it. Private stores can be one of your biggest assets in the game. You can easily browse through a wide selection at various prices, although it may lag alot but sometimes it can be worth the time spent. You may also want to setup your own store as well when you want to sell off your items. Would be ideal when you go AFK for a long period of time or planning to go to sleep. Don't start your store and stare at the screen though, that's just silly and a waste of time. Avoid selling more than 3 items at a time, set price 5-10% below shop price. You should be able to get a good return within 1-2 hours.

Questing for adena

Here's a simple way to make some easy adena : do some quests. Most people seem to blow these off, but all the starter villages have quests you can do at around level 20 that will net you ~100k each. When you're higher level, try some of the other quests. The wish pot quest can be started at level 30 (it begins with Matild; her house is located due west of the Ivory Tower on the west side of the river). This quest requires a lot of traveling; it will take you from just north of Giran all the way to Windy Hill near the Orc Barracks. However, the reward is substantial. The wish pot obtained from this quest can be sold in private store anywhere from 500-600k. The potential rewards from Matild can be far greater in value, but with that there is no guarantee.

Adena hot spots

L2 adena hot spots is today’s keyword. A hot spot is an area where you get the most adena profit while waisting as little time as possible. After 4 years experience in the game I noticed that hot spots are generally filled with X-ed mobs. That means mobs in that place have x2, x3 or more HP than normal. Yes, they take more time to kill but give a lot more adena and they are profitable to farm if you are at a higher level than them. You can try some of the following locations as a hot spot. If one area doesn’t work for you try finding one with weakness to your class (weakness to arrow for example).

For levels 1-19 get into the dungeons in your home land. Start farming @ around lvl 12.
  • Elven Ruins, Elven Fortress, School of Dark Arts, Frozen Waterfalls, Mithril Mines.
From 21-39 you can try these hot spots:
  • Ruins of Agony/Despair, Abandoned Camp, Execution Grounds, Cruma Tower (1st floor only), Wastelands and ultimately, when around lvl 39 go to Death Pass.
After lvl 40 a whole world opens up. You’ll now be able to get some serious adena, provided you choose your hot spot carefully. Only go farming in a place where there are green mobs and where you know you can solo for a lot of time. Check the World info tab in your L2 map for reccomended levels before you set start. Here are some suggestions:
  • Ivory Tower, Sea of Spores, Fields of Whispers/Silence, Enchanted Valley, Forest of Mirrors and Angel Waterfall, Alligators Island.
When you’re strong enough get into harder spots – you might consider taking a friend with you because it usually gets hard to solo here.
  • Giants Cave, Lair of Antharas, Cruma Tower upper floors, Tower of Insolence.
You should be able to solo and get lots of hard cash in Blazing Swamp, Devastated Castle, Dragon Valley.

Hardcore adena

Adena is the soul for Lineage 2 economy. Every player will feel the pressure of not having adena and will need more and more of it to accomplish his goals. One of the first adena making tactics a player thinks of is to basicly hunt mobs. Sounds simple, but there’s a catch to it. Here’s a few tips.

You need adena and you’re killing mobs. Of course you can kill random mobs, you’ll still get adena. But what if you hunt easy to kill mobs and still get the same amount of adena ? You need to calculate your profits depending on the time it takes you to farm adena. The less time it takes you, the more profit you’ll be making.

Farm adena on lower level mobs, green or light blue colored. Although they give you much less SP and EXP, it takes you a short time to kill them – and you still get the adena. If you’re a mage, find ‘one-hit-one-kill’ mobs so you don’t run out of mana. If you’re a tank just find mobs with weak p.atk so you don’t loose too much HP.

Find areas with small respawn time. It’s better for you to have plenty of mobs to kill instead of waiting for them to spawn. Usually try to find areas with less players around you, it will shorten the farming time you need.

Soulshots ? Forget this luxury. Farm without SS because they cost too much and using them will just make you loose money instead of making a profit.
